Why Product Reviews are important
Shopfiy Customer product reviews are very important and they are very useful in helping you generate more sales because people like to see social proof before they go ahead and buy a product. And if they see that other people are leaving positive reviews, that can greatly increase your chance of actually selling your product on your Shopify store. In the tutorial I’m going to show you how you can add customer reviews to your Shopify store.
Customer good or bad reviews
When someone leaves a review on your Shopify store, you can give a response to that. if customer really enjoyed your product he can give thanks by writing good review for your product. And that’s very useful for you to generate more sales, they leave a good or bad review, if you’re responsive, then people appreciate that, basically you will get the ideas to improve your product after seeing ur customers reviews. Also it’ll help build trust to the person that maybe wants to buy a product from your store.
Customer product reviews show up right below your product. by using shopify product review app You can also control which reviews show up on your stores. So if someone leaves a review that is not accurate or that you think is misleading, you can go ahead and choose to hide that review if you want.
Suppose If a customer add a bad review then you should not remove bad reviews. lets say If someone does leave a bad review, you should just leave it up because, if you are genuinely selling a good product, you’re going to get many good reviews as well as those five star reviews. if you just five star reviews all across the page, people are going to look at that and they’re not going to trust that because that looks pretty fake. I don’t think there’s any product on any online stores even on Amazon that has completely five star reviews. So you don’t just want to remove all your bad reviews Anyway!

To add customer reviews to our Shopify storeby going to our Shopify dashboard.
Login to your shopify account
Click on the left hand side where it says apps or open the shopify app store to apps.shopify.com
In search bar, we want to search for our app “product reviews”
Under the app section where it says product reviews app. Let’s go ahead and click on that. as you can see, it’s a product reviews application by Shopify themselves, so its going to integrate into Shopify easily.
Click add App button, where it says add app, and it’s going to verify that you want to link this app to your shopify store. This app is made by Shopify themselves, so this app is completely trustworthy.
You can go ahead and click on where it says install app on the top right here. once its install you can see that it says now that you’ve installed the product reviews app, you can add product reviews section and ratings to your online store.
Next we want to do now is go to the left hand side here and click on our online store and click on where it says themes.
Then let’s click on where it says customize.
Once we have our theme editor open, we want to go to our catalog.
Select first any of your store product you want to add reviews. Under the product information on the left hand side here, click on where it says add block. Then scroll down and click on the reviews under the apps. And right here we can see now it says customer reviews.
Add Customer review to shopify store
Customer reviews are going to show up once people actually start writing a review. So if you click on where it says, Write a Review, and let’s just say name is Tutscity, and type an email, give this a four star rating. Let’s just say “Crystal hair removal its really a great product, i would love to buy again!”, and click on where it says submit review. to see the changes please refresh the page, then you can now see that it’s going to show up right under the customer reviews.
Check the Product Review from frontend
We can see that there’s a total of one review that we just created right now. So this is how it’s going to show up on your site when people actually give this product a review. click on Save at the top right, it’s going to save that page, and then we can go back to our main dashboard. click on Online store and preview your shopify store.
If we go back to the left hand sidebar and click on Apps, then click on where it says product reviews right here.
you can see that our first review that we just created is showing. we can see when this review was created, with the date. also you can also see the status which is published, which means that this review is currently public.
Shopify Product Review App Setting
If we go up to the top left here and click on settings. Below is the details for all the shopify Product Review app settings
- Auto publish
Automatically check new reviews for spam and then publish them. - Email settings
Choose if you want to receive email notifications for each review. - Star icon color
Customize the color of your star icons. - Review listing layout
Customize how your review listing looks and feels. - Review listing text
Customize the text for the area that reviews are displayed on your website. - Review form text
Customize the text, and which fields are shown for the new review form. - Badge text
Customize the text of the star rating badges by modifying the text fields.
